Bedrock aquifer
systems
can provide a significant challenge for well installation. This is not to say that drilling a well in bedrock is difficult, but obtaining enough water for your system can be an issue. Bedrock breaks, and these breaks, or fractures, are where we find the water. These fractures can be seen on aerial photographs – when viewed with a trained eye, but you also need to be aware of water lines, county tiles and other buried structures in the area to be sure that the site selected for drilling will provide you with water and not additional headaches.
