Completing a geothermal project involves the skills and expertise of a number of professionals. Along with the drilling team, others involved are the heating and cooling contractor, environmental engineers, inspection teams, and local utility representatives. Coordination of both large and small-scale projects requires the experience and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the job. Ortman Drilling has over 400 years of industry experience that work through a defined process that ensures the project is completed on time and on budget, and with all safety and environmental considerations addressed.

1. Secure project plans, specifications and permits
2. Complete the submittal process for specified materials and equipment
3. Call for underground utility locations
4. Mobilize manpower, materials and equipment to the job site
5. Set up and drill the geothermal borehole
6. Install the HDPE loop piping to specified depth
7. Grout the piping in place
8. Complete pressure testing of geo-loop piping
9. Tie in vertical and horizontal piping to system and structure
10. Complete pressure testing & flushing of system
11. Final project clean up and demobilization
12. Closeout procedures and documentation for state agencies
